Agricultural education in Oklahoma is getting a big boost with the announcement of a $200,000 grant from the American Electric Power Foundation to fund FFA STEM After-School Grants for the next five years.
The AEP Foundation is the charitable arm of American Electric Power, parent company of electric provider, Public Service Company of Oklahoma.
The announcement was made recently by PSO president and chief operating officer Peggy Simmons, who noted that the grant will expand and strengthen the program, which over the past two years has provided more than $60,000 to 24 FFA chapters in PSO-served communities across the state.
The individual chapter grants are administered through the Oklahoma FFA Foundation, which oversees the application and award process.
FFA STEM After-School Grant applications are available now, with the announcement of this year’s grant winners taking place later this summer. For more information or to apply for a grant, visit okffa.org.
