Dmitry Sergeyevich Khudik, 20, from Russia was charged in Washita County District Court Monday with trying to bribe a police officer, and with displaying a fake driver’s license.
Court documents say an officer pulled Khudik over on I-40 last Friday. Khudik presented a Canadian driver’s license with an alias. He also reportedly lied about the rental car he was driving, as well as where he lived. A search of the vehicle also reportedly turned up several drivers’ licenses, debit cards and credit cards with various names on them.
The affidavit of probable cause says that while being handcuffed, Khudik told the officer that he could pay the officer money to let him go.
Inside the vehicle, officers eventually found 58 debit, credit and gift cards, as well as numerous identifications, computer equipment, a card swiping machine and six cell phones.
A special agent with the FBI became involved in the investigation. Khudik reportedly told the agent that he was involved in a large scale bank fraud and that he had used the items in his car to perpetrate the fraud.
Judge Doug Haught set Khukik’s bond at $125,000.

A Dill City woman says she took a child away from its home because the child’s mother is unfit. But the DA says that’s kidnapping.
Court documents say the District Attorney’s Office charged 32 year old Gerri Orlean Myers today in Washita County District Court with kidnapping.
The affidavit of probable cause says Myers took a 3 year old girl from the girl’s home in Burns Flat yesterday. When the mother of the child called Myers and asked her to bring the girl home, Myers allegedly said she wouldn’t. Instead, Myers reportedly told the mother that she was going to contact DHS.
Deputies with the Washita County Sheriff’s Office located Myers and the 3 year old girl at a residence in Burns Flat. Deputies retrieved the girl and returned her to her mother.
According to court documents, Gerri Myers told deputies that the girl’s mother and grandmother both knew that she was taking the girl. She denies any wrongdoing.
Judge Christopher Kelly set bond at $10,000 for Myers.

Purchases and payments—that’s what today’s meeting of the Elk City Commission involved.
The Elk City Commission met for the first time today in the newly opened City Hall in the 300 block of West 3rd Street.
Mostly, the Commission decided to pay some bills.
The Commission approved purchasing a machine to seal cracks in roadways for $34,000. In spite of the up-front cost, City Manager Gary Dumas says it will save the City in the long run from having to make more costly repairs.
The bulk of the rest of the meeting saw the Commission approve the paying of bills for various construction projects around town.
But during the City manager’s Report, Manager Gary Dumas introduced new Elk City Police Chief Eddie Holland to the Commission. Holland told the Commission that the staff at the police department contains good people with good hearts who are dedicated to their jobs. Holland told the Commission that his first order of business is to assess the personnel and the needs of the department. New Chief Eddie Holland says his goal is for the police department in Elk City to be the best trained and most professional force possible.
City Treasurer Anita Archer told the Commission that sales tax collections were over $883,000, which is up 8 percent from the same month last year.

Five young children are injured when their mother falls asleep while driving on I-40 today.
The OHP says that 7 year old Selena Santyo was flown to OU Medical Center in critical condition with head injuries, internal and external trunk injuries, arm and leg injuries.
Her four siblings—ranging in age from 4 to 9 years old—were taken to hospitals in Weatherford and El Reno with less serious injuries.
The OHP says their mother, 26 year old Maria Guerrero-Vazquez of Kansas City, Missouri, fell asleep at the wheel.
The OHP says Vazquez was driving a 1994 Honda Accord east on I-40 between the 98 and 99 mile markers in Caddo County. About ten minutes til 8 this morning, the car ran off the road, and Vazquez overcorrected, causing the car to roll three times.
Four of the children were not wearing seatbelts, and all four were ejected from the car.
The OHP gives apparent sleepiness as the cause of the accident.
