The Elk City School District, in association with the Project Aware Grant, will be welcoming an author to to the city to conduct seminars for the public. Superintendent Rick Garrison says Dr. Chan Hellman, a professor at Oklahoma University will be conducting three, free sessions at the Kelli O’Hara Center of Performing Arts on Tuesday, February 25th, discussing his book titled “Hope Rising” and how to apply it to everyday life. Garrison says Project Aware Grant Manager Carol Garrison and the Great Plains Medical Center have partnered up in bringing Dr. Hellman to Elk City.
Garrison said the event is free and open to the public. He does encourage anyone wanting to attend one of the three sessions to RSVP by going to the district’s Facebook page and following the link to eventbrite.com.
