It appears that the Elk City motocross track will remain open for the upcoming season.
According to the posted agenda for the upcoming city commissioner’s proceedings on Monday night, the first item the commission will consider will be to approve or disapprove a lease agreement between the city and J & M MX Park for the motocross track that sits west of town. J & M, which also operates Altus Motorsports, took over the operation last year and has expressed interest in operating the track this year.
The agenda says the commission will also consider a bid from Barber-Dyson Ford for two new pickups for the parks department and fleet department.
The commission will also consider a change order and the next payment for Hellas Construction for the synthetic turf project that is currently ongoing at the baseball / softball complex in Ackley Park West and the baseball field in Ackley Park.
Monday night’s Elk City Commissioners meeting is at 7 p.m.
