Shortly after identifying a suspect in a fatal vehicle burglary last week, Altus police have announced that they have made an arrest.
Authorities say 21-year-old Victoria Hooper of Blair was arrested Saturday and charged in Jackson County after Hooper allegedly stole a pickup from the Friendship Inn Apartments in Altus. Police say during the incident 31-year-old Daniel Moore, who works at the apartment complex, attempted to intervene during the theft by jumping into the bed of the pickup. Moore was later thrown from the pickup causing injuries that would later prove to be fatal.
Hooper was charged with first degree murder, kidnapping, and larceny of an automobile.
Hooper’s first initial court appearance is scheduled for April 16.
