The Custer County Board of Commissioners approved a resolution last week to update COVID-19 leave guidelines for all county employees.

The county now will pay for up to five days of sick leave per year for quarantining individuals, whether it’s from a positive test or direct contact exposure. A negative test must be presented before individuals can return to work.

Another change is instead of listing all of the specific COVID-19 leave guidelines, the document states the county will simply follow Centers for Disease Control guidelines, which will allow for some flexibility going forward.

In other business, the board approved a resolution designating all county employees as essential.
