At least two school board races have developed in two Beckham County School Districts.

With the deadline to file for candidacy wrapping up Wednesday, the Merritt School District and Sayre School District saw races form for Office Number 2.

In the Merritt School District, Jason Kos will challenge incumbent board member Dwight Spitz. In the Sayre School District, Cinch Yake and Russell Mariano intend to square off for the seat.

In Elk City, Brandon Storm did not draw a challenger, nor did Colby Holland in the Erick School District.

Elsewhere, a race was formed in the Cheyenne School District in Roger Mills County. Michael Boyett and Cailby Perez will both run for the seat.

Because no more than two candidates filed for the same position, a primary election is not needed. The general election is will take place on April 5.

**UPDATE**

School board races have also developed in Washita County school districts.

In the Canute School District, three will vie for the office number two seat with Dillon Delp and Caleb Sandusky challenging incumbent Lynn Chervenka.

For the seat on the Western Technology Center Board, Jackie Aaron will challenge incumbent Gary Smith.
