A Carter man was arrested in Sayre recently after allegedly attacking another man with a box knife.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Sayre Police were dispatched to a home in the 1500 block of 2nd Street on the morning of February 13, where they would find two men in an active struggle on the ground. After the two men were separated, the victim would tell authorities that 29-year-old Shane Joseph Pike Gawlik had come to the home and repeatedly beat on the door. When he was asked to leave by the victim, he refused to do so. The man would tell police that when he went outside to tell him to leave again, Gawlik allegedly became violent and attempted to cut the victim with a box knife.
