SWOSU Press Release

Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) with locations in Weatherford, Sayre and Yukon has announced the receipt of a major charitable gift from the Elk City Rodeo Committee.

The gift will provide an invaluable financial boost to the SWOSU Rodeo program.

The Elk City Rodeo Committee made the gift to SWOSU in memory of the late Randy E. Hutchinson, who passed away in 2005. He was a longtime, devoted member of the Elk City Rodeo Committee.

We are deeply grateful to the Elk City Rodeo Committee for making this incredibly generous gift to the SWOSU Rodeo student-athletes in memory of Randy Hutchinson,” said SWOSU President Dr. Diana “Diane” Lovell. “These resources will be put to good use furthering our incredible rodeo program and activities here at SWOSU.”

The gift from the Elk City Rodeo Committee to SWOSU is stewarded by the SWOSU Foundation, Inc. An institutionally-related charitable entity, the Foundation was established in 1977 to promote philanthropy, award scholarships and distribute funds to support the activities and programs of SWOSU. Located on the Weatherford campus in the historic Burton House, the Foundation currently stewards nearly $37 million in assets for the benefit of SWOSU.
