A single vehicle accident involving a semi truck Saturday night forced officials to shut down the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 near Sayre.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol the wreck occurred at approximately at 8:23p.m. near the 21 mile marker when the 2016 Freightliner driven by 52-year-old Baktybek Djumaliev of Loveland, Ohio became disabled.

In the report, OHP stated that as to what happened to cause the wreck remains under investigation.

However, the driver was transported to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he was admitted in good condition with an arm injury.

OHP did say that the cause of the collision was inattention, but that too remains under investigation.

The interstate was reopened after being closed for an hour and 19 minutes.
