During a recent meeting, the Custer County Commissioners voted to start the purchase process of the Custer County Election Board Office in Clinton.

The facility was appraised at $105,000.

Currently the building is rented by the county, however according to commissioners the building needs upgrades but the county leaders were reluctant to provide upgrades to a building that the county did not own.

The building currently sits at 633 N. 6th Street in Clinton and, according to Election Board Secretary Ann Brown, she’s on board with the county purchasing the building – telling the commissioners that the facility will need upgrades.

The process to move forward with the purchase was approved. It is unclear when the purchase will go final.
