AllianceHealth Hospital in Clinton and a clinic ran by AllianceHealth in Weatherford might be closed by the end of the year.

According to reports, Custer County and state officials were notified this week by Clinton HMA, LLC and Clinton HMPN, LLC that “due to market changes,” they will not review the lease agreement that expires on December 31, 2022.

The notification sent to the Oklahoma Office of Workforce Development stated “With the expiration of the lease, all operations will permanently cease and all employees will be permanently terminated,”.

The letter stated that 192 employees will be affected by the closing of operations at the Clinton hospital and the clinic. Four sites in Clinton and one in Weatherford are part of the shutdown.

The state also notified Custer County Commissioners, the mayors of Clinton and Weatherford and the Clinton City Manager.

However, there is still hope.

There is still a possibility another operator might be located to maintain hospital operations.

During the latest Clinton City Council Meeting Carrus Health, an independent company out of Sherman, Texas, indicated to the Clinton Hospital Authority that they are interested in taking over operation of the hospital.

Mercy Hospital has also expressed interest.

A representative with Carrus Health told the council that they would ensure the hospital has an operation ICU and OB unit, as well as retain all employees.
