Three inmates at North Fork Correctional Center in Sayre who were allegedly involved in the stabbing death of another inmate last March were charged with murder in the first degree last week in Beckham County District Court.

According to court records, 29-year-old Marcus Cook, 34-year-old Jameo L. Jackson, and 36-year-old Jeffery D. Jamison (all from McAlester) received the charge on Thursday.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the incident took place on the morning of March 18 when, according to security footage, Jackson and Jamison were seen entering the victim’s cell. A short time later the victim was seen walking out of the cell before falling face first to the ground.

The court document stated that medical attention was given to the inmate by NFCC staff however he would die on the scene.

Witnesses would tell investigators that Cook had allegedly hired Jackson and Jamison to rob the inmate of his cell phone. When the robbery was taking place in his cell, the two would allegedly assault and stab the man one time in the chest.

The affidavit stated that a round shape, metal, sharpened instrument was later retrieved from the sewer line near one of the defendant’s cell.

Bond for the three charged was denied.

It is unclear if the three are still being held at NFCC.
