During the latest Elk City School Board meeting, the board approved to enter into a lease purchase agreement with Great Plains Bank to purchase two new activity buses.

Superintendent Mike Sparks says the cost of each bus will be roughly $325,000. He said the need for the buses is there for the district.

Sparks did say that the district plans to put another bond issue before the public in February to address those transportation needs.

Sparks also said he anticipates to find out if the district was awarded grant dollars to purchase electric buses for in town routes by the end of this month.
