Two accidents in Western Oklahoma kept area first responders busy on Sunday.
The first occurred in Beckham County on a county road near Erick when, according to the accident report provided by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 24-year-old Jared D. Speed was traveling on the county road in a 2002 Dodge 2500 pick up when he departed to the left and rolled approximately 1 and quarter times.
Troopers say this caused Speed to be ejected from the vehicle.
Speed was transferred and admitted into Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City with head, arm, trunk internal and leg injuries. He was last listed to be in fair condition.
Troopers say Speed was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The second wreck on Sunday happened in Washita County on OK-44, 4 miles north of Sentinel when troopers say 35-year-old Chance C. Davis of Sentinel departed the highway while driving a 2016 Toyota Tacoma, and struck a fence. This caused the pick up to roll 1 and a quarter times, ejecting the driver.
OHP says Davis was flown to OU Trauma in Oklahoma City where he was admitted with trunk internal injuries. He was also last listed to be in fair condition.
Troopers say Davis was not wearing a seat belt at the time of that crash.
