Deer Rifle Season Begins in Oklahoma

One of Oklahoma’s most popular hunting season begins tomorrow that will typically see the “orange army” out in force.

Deer rifle season begins it’s two week run throughout the state on Saturday and Beckham County Game Warden Lt. James Edwards reminds hunters to, as always, practice gun safety while hunting this year.

Lt. Edwards also commented that he is seeing more and more instances of individuals hunting on private land without permission.

Lt. Edwards says if you are a landowner who catches a hunter hunting on your land, to contact the local authorities.

The deer rifle season concludes on December 4, however a holiday antlerless hunting season will begin on December 18.

Couple Arrested for Alleged Child Neglect

Elk City, OK – A Carter couple, 39-year-old Tara Dyer and 43-year-old Matthew Dyer, are out on bond after being arrested on December 27, 2024, on allegations of enabling child neglect involving their 16-year-old son. Authorities report
