Roger Mills County Election Board Press Release

Roger Mills County Election Board Secretary Jana Maddux announced today that the Hammon Public School District has opted to close the polling place for Precinct 202 (RMC Ag Barn), 203 (Red Star Church) and 302 (Crawford School Building) in Roger Mills County for the Board of Education Primary Election scheduled on February 14th, 2023.

State law allows a school district to close a precinct polling place for an election if the entire precinct is not contained within the district’s boundaries and if fewer than 100 registered voters reside in the part of the precinct that is inside the district.

Voters who are registered in Precinct 202, 203 or 302 at addresses located in the Hammon Public School District will receive an absentee ballot application from the County Election Board. Voters should complete, sign, and return the application form to the County Election Board to have an absentee ballot mailed to them. Voters can also apply for absentee ballots online using the OK Voter Portal at https://okvoterportal.okelections.us/ Applications for absentee ballots must be received by the County Election Board no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, January 30th, for this election.

Most absentee ballots must be mailed to the County Election Board; however, “standard” absentee ballots may be mailed or hand-delivered to the County Election Board. Hand-delivered ballots must be received no later than the end of business day, the Monday prior to the election. Mailed absentee ballots must be received by the County Election Board no later than 7 p.m. on election night.

Voters may also vote during early voting at the County Election Board office from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Thursday, February 9th, or Friday, February 10th. No excuse is needed.

Any registered voter in Precinct 202, 203 or 302 who believes that he or she may reside in the Hammon Public School District and who has not yet received an absentee ballot application from the County Election Board should contact the County Election Board office immediately.
