An Elk City man was arrested Thursday on a complaint of aggravated possession of child pornography.

Details are limited however, according to the daily booking report provided by the Elk City Police Department, 37-year-old Jess Clark Moore was arrested on the complaint Thursday morning at a residence in the 100 block of Hosanna Avenue in Elk City.

Records show that Moore was an employee of the Elk City School District.

In a statement provided to Paragon Communications, Superintendent Mike Sparks said:

We were shocked to learn of the arrest of Jess Moore, an employee of Elk City Public Schools. We can assure you the allegations against Mr. Moore have nothing to do with his employment at ECPS or with any student at ECPS. The allegations do not involve Mr. Moore’s use of any school equipment or technology. We have technology and systems in place to protect against the use of school technology in a manner which could be illegal or harmful to students. The safety of our students is our number one priority.”

Officials with the ECPD said the case is in the hands of the DA’s office and formal charges are pending.

This is a developing story.
