Drugs Tossed From Suspect’s Car During High Speed Pursuit Near Shamrock, TX

A man who led Texas authorities on a high speed pursuit near Shamrock Monday has been arrested and charged.

During the pursuit, the man allegedly threw illegal narcotics out of the window.

According to the Wheeler County Sheriff’s Office, 37-year-old Triston Darvelle Hicks is accused of driving 100 mph while throwing four pounds of cocaine and four pounds of fentanyl M-30 pills out of the window while being pursued by deputies.

The pursuit would take place on Route 66 near Shamrock, and authorities said they were able to successfully find and recover the discarded drugs.

The Sheriff’s Office said the pursuit ended when Hicks pulled into a Shamrock motel where he was arrested without incident.

The man was charged with two counts of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, and tampering or fabricating physical evidence.

Bond for Hicks was set at $100,000.
