A Burns Flat man was arrested and charged in Beckham County District Court recently after allegedly hitting another man with his truck during a dispute.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed by Elk City Police, 46-year-old Steven Allan Roubidoux is accused of the crime after video evidence showed what appeared to be the defendant’s truck striking the man in the parking lot of a convenience store in the 1300 block of West 3rd Street in Elk City on January 25.

The court document stated that the video, which was captured by surveillance cameras at the store, showed the two men had gotten into a dispute inside the store and later outside the store in the parking lot. Police say the defendant would later enter his truck and allegedly accelerate the vehicle and hit the victim. The video would show the victim lay on the hood after the strike before falling to the ground.

Finally the video showed the suspect’s vehicle flee the scene and not render aid to the victim.

The victim was later taken to Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City where he was treated for his injuries.

Police discovered that the suspect was from Burns Flat and may have been on his way home after the incident.

Burns Flat Police were notified and quickly located the suspect vehicle and it’s occupant.

Elk City Police would later arrest Roubidoux and book him into the Beckham County Jail.

Roubidoux was charged with one count of plan or attempt to conspire to perform an act of violence and one count of leaving the scene of an accident involving injury.

His bond was set at $450,000.
