An Elk City man and Clinton woman were injured Sunday evening after the motorcycle they were riding was struck from behind in Custer County near Clinton.
According to the collision report provided by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol the accident occurred Sunday at 7:45 p.m. on W. Commerce Road, a half mile west of Clinton when a 2012 Ford Mustang rear ended the 2014 Harley Davidson driven by 66-year-old Thomas L. Edwards of Elk City.
OHP said the collision caused the motorcycle to depart the road to the left into a field, throwing the driver and his passenger, 59-year-old Linette Whitten of Clinton off the motorcycle.
As a result, Edwards was flown to OU Medical Center where he was admitted in fair condition with a head injury. Whitten was also flown to OU Medical where she was admitted in serious condition with a head injury.
The driver of the Mustang was treated at and released from Weatherford Regional Hospital.
The condition of the driver and cause of the accident both remain under investigation.
