Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) is proud to announce that Miss SWOSU, Megan Bradley of Leedey, and Miss SWOSU’s Outstanding Teen, Landri Jones of Weatherford, will represent SWOSU at the highly anticipated Miss Oklahoma Competition. The event will take place on June 4–10 at the RiverSpirit Resort and Casino in Tulsa.
To celebrate this achievement, SWOSU invites the community to a special send-off celebration on Wednesday, May 31, from 5–7 p.m. The event will be held in the East Ballroom of the Memorial Student Center on the Weatherford campus, featuring refreshments and performances by Bradley and Jones, who will model their competition wardrobes and perform their talents. Little Star, Ellie Mae Buie of Leedey, will also showcase her evening wear. Please RSVP at 580-819-0756 if planning to attend.
The Miss and Teen preliminary competitions will be held throughout the week of the Miss Oklahoma Competition, with the finals for the Miss Oklahoma’s Teen Competition scheduled for Saturday, June 10 at 2 p.m., followed by the Miss Oklahoma Competition finals at 7:30 p.m.
Bradley, a Communications major at SWOSU, is contestant #21 of the Omega Group at Miss Oklahoma. Her interview competition is scheduled for Tuesday, June 6, and she will captivate the audience with her vocal talent performance of “I, Who Have Nothing” during the first Miss Preliminary on Wednesday, June 7. On Thursday, June 8, during the second Miss Preliminary, Bradley will showcase her talents in the Evening Wear, Fitness, and On-stage Question segments.
Jones, a junior at Weatherford High School, is contestant #23 Teen of the Omega Group. Her interview is scheduled for Wednesday, June 7, followed by her Active Wear, On-Stage Question, and Evening Wear competitions on the afternoon of Friday, June 9, during the first Teen Preliminary. Jones will perform her vocal talent for the judges and audience during the second preliminary on Friday evening with her rendition of “Feeling Good.”
The winners of these prestigious competitions will earn the opportunity to advance to the Miss America and Miss America’s Teen competitions in 2024, making this an incredibly exciting journey for both Bradley and Jones.
