Mooreland Sweeps 8U and 10U State Softball Titles, Elk City Reigns Supreme in 12U Division

The OK Kids state softball tournaments delivered thrilling matches and fierce competition. Here are the highlights from each division:

8U Division:

  • The final four teams in Clinton were Mooreland, Merritt, Chickasha, and Hobart.
  • Mooreland emerged as the 8U state champions, defeating Hobart with a score of 5-1.

10U Division:

  • The State Tournament was held in Wford and featured Canute, Elk City, Dale, and Mooreland in the final four.
  • Once again, Mooreland claimed the championship title, overpowering the Elk City Elkettes with a commanding score of 12-2.

12U Division:

  • Ada hosted the 12U state tournament, and the last three teams standing were from Western Oklahoma: Elk City Elkettes and Clinton Lady Reds.
  • Clinton displayed resilience by winning three consecutive games, including a semifinal victory over Cordell, to reach the championship game.
  • However, the championship belonged to Elk City, as they secured a dominating 19-0 win over Clinton to become the 12U state champions.
  • Throughout the tournament, Elk City showcased their strength, outscoring opponents 67-5 over four games.
