A Hobart man is in critical condition after being involved in a one vehicle accident near Carter Sunday morning.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident occurred just before 9 a.m. Sunday on OK-6 and OK-152, 8 miles northeast of Carter when 24-year-old Kyle E. Theesen departed the roadway to the right and began to slide sideways while driving a 2004 Chevy Silverado.

Troopers said the pickup struck an embankment causing it to roll one and three quarters time, coming to rest on its drivers side.

As a result, Troopers said Theesen was flown to OU Trauma in Oklahoma City where he was admitted with external and internal trunk injuries.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
