A Greenfield couple was hospitalized over the weekend after being involved in a two vehicle accident near Watonga in Blaine County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s collision report, the accident occurred just after 12:30 p.m. on OK-3, 1 quarter mile east of Watonga when while attempting to make a left turn onto a county road, the 2012 Ford Explorer driven by 82-year-old Carol Ridenhour failed to yield to an oncoming 2014 Kenworth semi-truck.

Troopers said the semi would strike the passenger side of the vehicle and pin the driver and the passenger, 85-year-old John Ridenhour, for an unknown amount of time.

Troopers said the couple were both flown to OU Medical Center where they were admitted with head and internal injuries. Their condition was not listed.

The driver of the semi was uninjured.
