An Okeene woman was killed after being involved in a single vehicle accident in Blaine County Saturday morning.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s collision report, 63-year-old Carla Schultz was a passenger in a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu that was traveling on a county road about one and one-half miles east of Southard when Troopers say the driver became distracted by the radio, left the roadway and struck a bridge embankment.

Shultz was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.

Another passenger, 36-year-old Leah M. Schultz, also of Okeene, was ejected and suffered leg, foot and trunk external injuries. She was flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where she was admitted, last listed to be in stable condition.

The driver was treated and released at a local hospital.
