Press Release

On Thursday, October 19, 19 pleas took place in the 100th Judicial District Court in Childress County.

Luke Inman, the District Attorney for the 100th Judicial District, along with Assistant District Attorney Harley Caudle, prosecuted the cases for the State of Texas, with the newly appointed Honorable Judge Dale Rabe presiding for the first time in the 100th Judicial District.

Shawn Andrew MacGregor, 53, from Wellington, Texas, was sentenced to 35 years in prison for the first degree felony offense of possession of a controlled substance in penalty group one, methamphetamine, with intent to deliver.

MacGregor was arrested on January 12, 2022 by 100th Judicial District Traffic Enforcement Division Investigator Todd Gambol.

MacGregor was originally placed on six years probation on January 12, 2022. The State filed a motion asking the Court to revoke MacGregor’s probation on June 26, alleging five violations of his community supervision conditions.

One of the violations was an arrest on May 23 for possession of methamphetamine.

MacGregor was also ordered to pay the remaining $500 fine, $376 in court costs and $180 in restitution.

Michael Dean Luna, 41, from Wellington, Texas, was placed on four years probation for the third degree felony offense of possession of a controlled substance in penalty group one, methamphetamine.

Luna was arrested on March 15, 2022 in Collingsworth County by Gambol. Luna pleaded to an information filed by the State on April 20, 2022.

Luna was also ordered to pay a $4,000 fine to Collingsworth County, $376 in court costs, and $180 lab fee.
