A medical condition was to blame for a fatal one vehicle accident west of Clinton on Tuesday.
According to the accident report provided by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the incident occurred just after 5 p.m. at the intersection of OK-73 and 40th Street when while driving a 2007 Volkswagon, 79-year-old Charles Wayne Pool of Clinton apparently had a medical condition which caused him to depart the roadway to the left, go off an embankment and come to rest on its wheels.
Troopers said Pool was taken to Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City where he was pronounced deceased.
