A Clinton woman who allegedly attacked a teenager was arrested and charged recently in Custer County District Court.

According to court records, 18-year-old Dashya Ann Grimes-Thomas is accused of attacking the boy on December 18 at a home in the 600 block of South 30th Circle in Clinton. She would later tell police that she believed the teen was possessed by a spiritual demon, and felt that the boy was a threat to her newborn child.

When police arrived on scene, they would note in the probable cause affidavit that the victim allegedly had injuries on his neck, and under his chin. He would tell police that Grimes-Thomas had allegedly hit him with a hanger, and had placed one end of the hanger under his chin.

It also came to authorities attention that the defendant had taken a large amount of pills a few days earlier.

Grimes-Thomas was taken to a nearby hospital to be evaluated. Once cleared and released, she was booked into the Custer County Jail.

She was formally charged with one felony count of domestic assault and battery by strangulation on December 20.
