An Elk City man accused of sexually abusing his foster daughter has been charged in Beckham County District Court.

According to court records, 63-year-old David Leon McGuire was charged last week with first degree rape by instrumentation and lewd or indecent acts to a child under the age of 16 after he confessed to the crimes during an interview with an OSBI agent.

A probable cause affidavit showed that Elk City Police were contacted by a Department of Human Services case worker after the 12-year-old female victim had disclosed to the case worker of the incident.

Police would interview the child where she would say that McGuire had inappropriately touched her while his wife was out of town attending her father’s funeral.

The affidavit stated that the defendant initially denied the allegations, but after an OSBI agent performed a polygraph test, McGuire would later admit to the inappropriate touching.

McGuire is currently in the Beckham County Jail on a $500,000 bond.

His next court date is scheduled for February 26.
