The wanted man who allegedly held up an Erick convenience store may have been on the run after being wanted in Canadian County.

Beckham County Sheriff Derek Manning sheds more light on the incident that occurred Wednesday night that saw the suspect rob the store and while being pursued by both citizens and law enforcement, stole multiple vehicles in his attempt to evade capture.

Manning said along with Beckham County Sheriff’s Deputies, troopers with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and even U.S. Marshalls aided in the search for the suspect.

Manning added that it wasn’t hard for the suspect to steal the vehicles and added this word of warning for area residents, especially those living in rural parts of the county.

As of press time, the suspect has not been arrested. Manning did say the he believes that the man is not in the area.
