Scooter Accident Hospitalizes Michigan Man

A Michigan man was hospitalized Thursday night after wrecking a gas powered scooter in Beckham County.

According to the collision report provided by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident occurred just after 7 p.m. on OK-152 just west of the OK-6 intersection when 43-year-old Wesley G. Vanbuskirk of Grant, Michigan departed the road and overturned the Znen Heritage 150 gas powered scooter he was driving. As a result, Vanbuskirk was thrown from the scooter and sustained trunk internal injuries.

Troopers said he was flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he was admitted in critical condition.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
