Wellington Man Sentenced

On Tuesday, May 7, nine pleas and three revocations took place in the 100th Judicial District Court in Childress County.

Luke Inman, the District Attorney for the 100th Judicial District, along with Assistant District Attorney Harley Caudle, prosecuted the following cases for the State of Texas, with the Honorable Judge Stuart Messer, sitting by appointment, and the Honorable Judge Dale Rabe, Jr., presiding.

Armando Sanchez, 36, from Wellington, Texas, was placed on probation for five years for the third degree felony offense of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.

Sanchez was arrested by Collingsworth County Sheriff’s Deputy Tyler Kincaid on July 17, 2023. Sanchez pleaded to an information filed by the State on March 21.

Sanchez was also ordered to pay a fine of $500, $376 in court costs, $180 in restitution, $180 in lab fees, and must complete 200 hours of community service. If he violates the terms of his probation, Sanchez faces up to 10 years in prison.
