Boating Accident Injures Clinton Man

A Clinton man was injured after being involved in a boating accident on Lake Lugert in Greer County Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident took place just after 4 p.m. Wednesday when while driving a Sea Doo, 41-year-old James M. Smith was struck by another Sea Doo driven by a 13-year-old female, also from Clinton.

As a result, Smith and the teen were ejected from the Sea Doos with Smith sustaining leg injuries. The teenage girl was not injured and both were wearing life jackets at the time of the collision.

Troopers said Smith was flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he was admitted with leg injuries.

At last report, he was listed to be in good condition.
