It was announced recently that the Oklahoma Route 66 Museum in Clinton will host the Oklahoma Route 66 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.

The museum will also be opening a new exhibit after the ceremony.

According to a press release provided by the Oklahoma Historical Society, the ceremony will see two inducted into the Hall, however the two honorees were not announced.

The Society stated that inductions are held every two years for individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the promotion or preservation of Route 66. The selection includes a nomination and committee process conducted by the association. The winners’ plaques are displayed in the Oklahoma Route 66 Association Hall of Fame, located in the WOW! Exhibit Room at the Oklahoma Route 66 Museum.

Immediately following the ceremony, the museum will hold an opening for a new photo exhibit titled “Discovering 66” by Rhys Martin, president of the Oklahoma Route 66 Association.

The Oklahoma Route 66 Museum will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the day of the event. The ceremony is free and open to the public. Attendees are invited to enjoy refreshments while listening to music that was popular when Route 66 was a main highway to travel. The event is sponsored by the Oklahoma Historical Society, the Oklahoma Route 66 Association and the Friends of the Oklahoma Route 66 Museum, Inc.
