The Beckham County Detention Center will be receiving upgraded surveillance equipment.

Beckham County Sheriff Derek Manning says that, in addition to the deputies, jailers and staff will now be wearing body cams.

Manning added that the office will also be equipping deputies with mobile cams in the near future. He says this will allow him to remotely monitor events live as they happen.

No word yet on when the new equipment will be implemented.
