With the upcoming legislative session set to begin next month, local politicians have been busy preparing bills they plan to introduce this year.
District 55 Rep. Nick Archer (R-Elk City) says he has around bills he plans to introduce with nearly half of them focusing on oil and gas however most of which are considered “place holders”.
One bill Archer has filed includes, if passed, reimbursement to landowners if an eminent domain case goes to trial and the land is not acquired.
Along with serving on the Energy and Energy and Natural Resources Oversight Committees, Archer was elected Vice Chair of the House Republican Caucus in November.
The 2025 legislative session starts Feb. 3.
