Weatherford, OK – A Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) student is recovering after a medical emergency during a National Guard training exercise at the university pool on Tuesday morning.

According to SWOSU officials, the student experienced a medical emergency, went underwater, and did not resurface. A lifeguard on duty and another National Guard student quickly responded, pulling the individual from the water and administering aid.
