Elk City, OK – The Elk City Police Department is inviting community members to participate in its first-ever Citizen’s Police Academy, a free program designed to provide insight into local law enforcement operations.

The academy aims to foster a stronger relationship between police officers and the public by offering classroom instruction and hands-on training led by local law enforcement. Participants will gain a better understanding of police procedures, training, and responsibilities, helping to build an informed community with open communication between citizens and officers.

This program is not about turning participants into officers but rather creating better-informed citizens who understand the many responsibilities of law enforcement,” the department stated.
