Weatherford, OK – The Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) College of Pharmacy continues to set a high standard for pharmacy education, with its May 2024 graduates achieving a 93.8% first-time pass rate on the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX). This figure significantly exceeds the national average of 75.7%, further highlighting the strength of SWOSU’s programs.
Since its establishment in 1939, the SWOSU College of Pharmacy has earned a reputation as one of the most accessible and supportive pharmacy programs in the nation. With small class sizes, personalized learning opportunities, and dual-degree options like the Doctor of Pharmacy and master’s in business administration, the program equips students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the pharmacy profession. SWOSU also offers unique flexibility by admitting students twice yearly, allowing them to start their studies in either the Fall or Spring semester.
Construction of the Hodge Center for Pharmacy and Rural Health remains on schedule and on budget, with an estimated opening in early 2026. The installation of glass is expected to be completed by mid-February, allowing the building to be fully enclosed and minimizing weather-related delays as work continues.
The College of Pharmacy continues to focus on student success, providing resources and support to help students progress through the program, gain hands-on experiences, and build careers in a variety of pharmacy fields. SWOSU’s commitment to maintaining a high standard of education is reflected not only in its NAPLEX pass rates but also in the success of its alumni.
