Tulsa, OK – The Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC) has approved a settlement in Public Service Company of Oklahoma’s (PSO) rate review, paving the way for continued efforts to enhance the safety, reliability, and modernization of Oklahoma’s power grid. This decision aims to improve grid resilience and reduce the frequency and duration of power outages.
PSO, which serves nearly 575,000 customers across eastern, western, and southwestern Oklahoma, including 232 communities, has emphasized the importance of adapting to increasing energy demands and weather-related challenges.
“With this approval, we are better positioned to invest in infrastructure that can meet current needs and prepare for future energy demands,” said Leigh Anne Strahler, PSO President and Chief Operating Officer.
The approved settlement does not affect interim rates implemented on October 23, 2024. At that time, a typical residential customer using 1,100 kilowatt-hours per month experienced a $12 monthly increase. However, overall residential bills saw a net decrease due to a reduction of $16.93 per month, which began in November 2024 as a result of lower fuel costs.
