April Sales Tax Numbers Are In

The latest sales tax numbers are in and two out of three of western Oklahoma’s larger communities collected over $1 million.

The latest numbers reflect sales tax intake from the month of April.

Starting with those cities, the City of Elk City saw a slight decrease of 1.4% by collecting $1,223,823.65. The City of Weatherford was down by 3% after bringing in $1,027,868.53 and the City of Clinton was down 8.5% after collecting $494,131.49.

By comparison, the City of Altus was up 6.3% with an intake of $1,082,470.61 of sales tax dollars and Woodward saw a 0.1% decrease by bringing in $1,060,687.80.

Smaller communities in the area had Sayre down 8.5% ($123,385.94), Mangum saw big gains, up 29% ($48,729.98), Hobart up 8.2% ($124,025.96) and Cordell down 3.9% ($91,520.81).

The state as a whole was up 0.4% by collecting $225,962,490.70 in the month of April.
