Beckham County Sheriff Derek Manning says his staff participated in an intruder drill at an area school.
He says his deputies along with staff at the Sweetwater Public School conducted the training earlier this month at the site where a mock intruder was used.
Manning said deputies have also trained at an area gun range with live weapons where his staff would practice different techniques on handling a school intruder situation.
