Brooklyn Man Injured in Beckham Co. I-40 Wreck

A Brooklyn, New York man was injured Saturday after being involved in a single vehicle accident on Interstate 40 near Sayre.

According to the collision report provided by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident occurred 6 miles west of Sayre in the eastbound lanes of I-40 near mile marker 15 when a 2017 Freightliner driven by 46-year-old Dzhamshed Shodiev departed the road to the right, over corrected which caused the driver to lose control and overturn the vehicle.

Beckham County Sheriff Derek Manning says Sergeant Jason Atwood was first to arrive on scene and rendered aid to the driver.

The driver was flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he was admitted in good condition with arm inures.

Troopers said he was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

No other vehicles were involved.
