Weatherford, OK – Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) has received a generous philanthropic gift from SWOSU graduates and brothers Philip Busey, ’04, and Brian Busey, ’05, both of Oklahoma City.

The Busey brothers serve as owners and executives at Oklahoma City-based Delaware Resource Group of Oklahoma, LLC (DRG), a Native American-owned leading global aerospace defense contractor founded in 2002 by the Busey brothers’ father, Mr. Phil G. Busey. The company is a global defense contractor providing training services, contractor logistics services (CLS), logistics services, and numerous other service lines all over the world. Thousands of service men and women around the world count on DRG to provide critical training and logistics services for many of today’s modern military programs and aircraft. DRG is a certified Minority Owned Business (MBE) and a recognized Indian Economic Enterprise (IEE).

DRG and SWOSU collaborate closely on aerospace and defense workforce development. Philip is DRG’s President and Brian is DRG’s Chief Executive Officer.

The Busey brothers are longtime SWOSU benefactors. This latest philanthropic investment of $25,000 will be allocated to the Busey Brothers Scholarship Program which was established by the brothers in 2012. The scholarship program has provided over $35,000 in scholarship assistance to SWOSU students studying across majors in multiple SWOSU colleges and departments.

At SWOSU, Philip serves as Chairman of the SWOSU Foundation, Inc. Board of Trustees, and Brian serves on the SWOSU Football Legacy Fund Steering Committee.

We are pleased to continue supporting the mission of our shared alma mater,” said Philip and Brian in a statement. “Each of us received a quality, affordable higher education at SWOSU and we hope to pay that forward through philanthropy and volunteer involvement.”

Philip and his wife, Ms. Heather (Ratcliffe) Busey, ’04, are parents of Griffin and Beau. Brian and his wife, Dr. Janie Busey, are parents of Avery, Owen, and Maggie.

We are deeply grateful to Philip Busey and Brian Busey and their families for this thoughtful and kind gift to SWOSU,” said SWOSU President Dr. Diana R. Lovell. “The Busey Brothers Scholarship Fund allows our institution to meaningfully recruit and retain students from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds with invaluable financial assistance.”

The Busey Brothers Scholarship Fund is administered by the SWOSU Foundation, Inc.
