Denver, CO – The Auction of Junior Livestock Champions at the 2025 National Western Stock Show broke records, generating an impressive $637,000 across the top eight champion animals. This shattered the previous high of $585,000 set in 2023.
Sayde Allen, a freshman at Canute High School, and her Grand Champion Goat, Humble, stole the show by selling for a record-breaking $45,000. Likewise, Clay Randall, a junior at Canute High School, proudly showcased Tucker, the Grand Champion Lamb, which fetched a remarkable $52,500, another record.
Other highlights included the Grand Champion Steer, shown by Madilyn Norvell, which sold for a jaw-dropping $210,000 to Hutchison Western, surpassing the 2023 record of $200,000.
The auction is the culmination of hard work and dedication by junior exhibitors, aged 9 to 18, participating in 4-H and FFA. It provides an extraordinary marketplace for ribbon-winning steers, lambs, hogs, and goats, while encouraging the next generation to pursue careers in agriculture and further their education.
Of the thousands of junior market animals at the Stock Show, only 98 qualify for this elite auction. Most of the winning bid proceeds go directly to the exhibitors, while a portion supports the National Western Scholarship Trust, empowering future agricultural leaders.
