Canute Public School officials have announced a proposed bond issue that, if passed, would see building improvements made at the Washita County school.

According to a press release, the proposed plan would remodel the school’s gym that includes, among other things, making the gym accessible for all by addressing Americans with Disability Act requirements, upgrading the science labs, and positioning the district to connect the gym and the main building with a practice gym, cafeteria, and auditorium in a future plan.

In total, the plan is projected to cost $5.8 million.

Canute voters will decide on the bond on February 13.
