Oklahoma City, OK – The 2025 Oklahoma Youth Expo marked the end of an era as the final Grand Champion Drive of the four market species took place in the historic Jim Norick Arena, closing out 60 years of livestock shows in the storied venue.
Among the standout competitors in the wether lamb contest—where over a thousand market lambs filled the fairgrounds—were two familiar faces from western Oklahoma.
Sayde Allen of Canute FFA took Reserve Grand Champion Market Lamb honors with her Champion Division 2 Black Faced Cross. Her younger sister, Layne Allen also of Canute 4-H, earned the reserve division 3 goat with her Reserve Champion Division 1 Black Faced Cross.
The Allen sisters weren’t done making headlines.
In the Market Goat show, Sayde rose to the top again, winning with her Division 5 Market Goat and was named grand overall goat on Thursday evening. Layne rounded out the family’s winning week by showing the third best goat in the show, earning the Bronze Medallion.
The 2025 Oklahoma Youth Expo will be remembered not only for closing the book on a legendary arena—but for showcasing the next generation of champions.
