A tragic accident over the weekend took the life of a Canute High School student.
It was confirmed by Canute School officials the 17-year-old who passed away was Kelton Milburn.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s collision report, the two vehicle accident took place Friday night just before 7 p.m. when a 2001 Dodge Ram driven by Milburn failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection of a county road and OK-33 two miles east of Strong City, and was struck by the 2015 GMC Acadia driven by 67-year-old Charolet L. Lucas of Cheyenne.
Lucas was flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where she was treated for head injuries. She was last listed to be in stable condition.
