Cheyenne Man Hit on US-283

A Cheyenne man was critically injured Wednesday evening in Roger Mills county after being hit by a truck while walking in the middle of a highway.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 28-year-old Joshua C. Stanfield was walking on US-283 one mile south of Cheyenne when he was struck by a 2015 Ford F-250 driven by 54-year-old Gary D. Trissell of Canute at approximately 6:41pm.

Troopers said Stanfield was flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he was admitted with head, leg, trunk internal and trunk external injuries.

He was last listed to be in critical condition.

Troopers said the condition of the victim is still under investigation. They also stated that the condition of the driver was normal.
